Questions, answered.
What is arkum?
A vault for Solana. You lock SOL in a vault, and the only way to withdraw is a hash-based signature instead of a normal wallet signature. It's built to stay safe if quantum computers ever break today's wallet cryptography.
Is it live?
The badge in the sidebar shows which network this site is connected to. Devnet uses free test SOL, so you can try every step at no cost. Mainnet means real SOL.
Why do I still need Phantom?
Phantom sends the deposit and pays the network fee for unlocks. It cannot open your vault. Only the hash signature made from your secret can.
What if I lose my secret?
The vault stays closed. There's no reset, no admin key and no support desk that can open it. Back your secret up the way you'd back up a seed phrase.
Why does my SOL move to a new vault?
Each key is used once. When you withdraw part of a vault, the rest moves straight into your next vault, which has a fresh key. You'll see it in My vaults.
Are quantum computers a real threat?
Not today. But a large enough one could recover private keys from public keys on Solana, and every public key is already on-chain. arkum is for people who'd rather move early than late.
